Class of 2028 Activities & Athletics Fair. Student Cafeteria and Field House, TBD.

Hello Future Maine East Blue Demons!

It is with great excitement that we officially welcome you to Maine East High School!

We hope you are as excited to be a part of the Maine East community, as we are to have you join the Maine East Family. While it seems like this school year has just begun, our team at Maine East has been active in planning for your transition to high school. We understand that this new beginning can be exciting and stressful at the same time.  Our hope is to provide on-going communication and events to learn more about the amazing opportunities we provide at Maine East and to work together to support a successful transition into 9th grade and beyond.

The Incoming 9th grade experience will allow for opportunities to learn about academics and courses, fine arts, world language and career/technical education, extracurriculars and athletics and so many other things that make Maine East an amazing place to be for high school! Most importantly, below you will find important information that will help guide you and your child in navigating the incoming 9th grade transition. We hope you are as excited as we are – welcome Class of 2028!

Important Information from the Health Office

All 9th-grade students entering Maine East High School must have a current physical and certification of the required immunizations. The physical must be completed between August 15, 2023, and July 1, 2024. All components of the form including the Health History must be filled out, signed, and dated. Only complete forms will be accepted.  Your student will be excluded if a completed physical form is not received.

The State of Illinois Child Health Examination Form – complete with proof of the appropriate vaccination (as required by state law) – must be on file at the school before July 1, 2024. A sports physical cannot take the place of the 9th-grade required physical.

If a student requires prescription medication or over-the-counter medications during the school day, a Prescription Authorization Form must be completed by both the Parent/Guardian and the Attending Physician.

State of IL Proof of School Dental Exam Form: All incoming 9th-grade students are required to have a dental exam on file. School dental examinations must have been completed within 18 months prior to the May 15, 2025 deadline

Enclosed you will find the necessary forms to be completed and returned to the school. These forms may also be found on the Maine East Health Office website, https://east.maine207.org/academics/health-office/. Please return all forms to Maine East High School by mail using the enclosed return envelope, hand-deliver to the Main Office, fax to 847-692-8318, or email to [email protected]. If you have questions, the Health Office can be reached at (847) 692-8317 from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm during the regular school year.

Class of 2028 Welcome Night Wednesday, December 6th, 6:00pm-8:00pm: This evening is an open house style event for all incoming 9th grade students and potential 9th grade students and families to learn about Maine East High School, meet our staff and explore the different course options and electives offered at Maine East High School. All families are encouraged to attend.

STAR Testing for students in private schools: Maine East offers students in private schools who do not take the MAP test an opportunity to take the STAR test with us. STAR testing (Reading and Math) helps Maine East counselors have common data for our incoming 9th graders to support course placement. In addition, families that are interested in having their student test for the Gifted Lyceum Program need to take the STAR test to determine if they qualify to move on in the selection process. You will be contacted if you are required to take the STAR test and invited to Maine East to take the STAR test.

District 207 Enrollment: Completing basic demographic and contact information through our online system (Infinite Campus) to ensure you get regular updates and communication from District 207 and Maine East about enrollment steps. Complete enrollment today.

Building Tours for Parents/Guardians: Scheduled tours are intended for parents/guardians for whom this is their first student to attend Maine East High School. Dates and times are listed below.
