Hello Senior Students,
It is unbelievable that graduation is only six weeks away! I hope you are very proud of your accomplishments. Finish strong over these remaining weeks, and I look forward to cheering you on at the graduation ceremony.
All graduates are invited to audition to be the Student Speaker for Commencement on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Rosemont Theatre. The Student Speaker represents the Class of 2024 to an audience of honored guests, including family, fellow graduates, and select faculty and staff. It is a great opportunity and honor to be the student speaker at graduation.
Students who choose to audition are requested to write speeches that meet the following criteria:

Appropriate for the purpose and audience

Unified around a central idea
-
Address graduates of the Class of 2024 and their guests at the ceremony
-
Contain relevance for this graduating class, its community, and experiences
Speaking time is limited to four minutes or less. You will submit a written copy of your speech AND you will present your speech live.
To select the speaker, a committee of staff will listen to the speeches and score them with a rubric.
If you are interested in auditioning to be the student speaker, you must complete this form linked below no later than Monday, April 22nd. A copy of your speech must be submitted to the 2024 graduation speeches google classroom (code = h3u5kae) on or before Sunday, April 28th. In-person auditions will take place in D101 beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30th. Once your google form and your speech are submitted, you will be contacted with an audition time.
