As an integral part of the Family and Consumer Sciences curriculum, the Child Care Occupations/Preschool course is designed to provide a lab school experience for enrolled high school students. Preschool children may participate in the district preschool program for one year only and may not repeat. No enrollment priority will be given to siblings of former or current preschool participants. Children who participate in the lab school are eligible for enrollment according to the following order of criteria.
1. Four years old by September 1 (current school year).
2. Legal resident of school attendance area.
3. Legal resident of District 207 attendance area.
4. Children of District 207 employees living outside the District 207 attendance area.
5. Reside outside of District 207 attendance area.
For example, four-year-old children who apply before March 31 and reside in the school attendance area have priority over those that live in the District 207 attendance area.
The preschool program fee is $300.00 per school year. This fee covers snacks and supplies. It is non-refundable if for any reason the enrolled child should discontinue attendance at any time during the year
The preschool program must adapt to the flexible nature of the high school schedule; therefore, cancellations and/or changes in the daily schedule may occur. Parents will be informed as far in advance as possible.
