Students Honored for Extracurricular Activities By Board

Three seniors were recently honored by the Maine Township High School District 207 Board of Education as “207’s Best” for achievement in extracurricular activities. Sarah Magnoni at Maine West, Marcin Nieradka at Maine East and Caleigh Pistorius at Maine South were all recognized by the Board of Education on Monday, May 6.

Sarah participates in numerous volunteer organizations including the Student Activities Leadership Team, National Honor Society and Pi Sigma Pi. She also is active in Student Council and Class Council. She volunteers at St. Emily, with Feed My Starving Children and Feed My Sheep soup kitchen. She is also on the cross country team, the basketball team and the soccer team. Read more about Sarah.

Marcin participates in the Gifted Lyceum, the Maine East Band, Wind Ensemble, section leader of the Blue Regiment Marching Band, Jazz Band, served as a musician in the V-Show pit and is a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. He is captain of both the water polo and swimming and diving teams at Maine East. Read more about Marcin.

Caleigh is a multi-year state qualifier in several events for gymnastics as well as a member of DECA, Italian Club, National Honor Society and volunteers for the differently-abled at MWSRA. Read more about Caleigh.
