Maine East to Host Mr. Demon Event to Raise Money for Local Charities

Maine East students will continue the tradition of the Mr. Demon contest on March 8 at 7 p.m. as the event will raise money for Gateway to Learning and the Maine Township Food Pantry. The contest will feature several students vying for the Mr. Demon title through several competitions including talent, spiritwear and beachwear. Among the contestants and their planned talent for the show this year include:

  • Juan Escobedo – Singing
  • Daniel Mitev – Dancing
  • Kevin Opeña – Saxophone & Singing
  • Josh Portillo – Singing, Instrumental
  • JJ Sergey – Taekwondo
  • Charles Sy – Dancing
  • Ryan Vu – Singing
  • Steven Vu – Singing and Dancing

The event will take place in the auditorium at the school and the cost is $5 at the door to attend. Anyone who brings bringing 2 cans of non perishable food items will receive $1 off their admission price and the food will be donated to the Maine Township Food Pantry.

Judges will be staff members and audience reaction will factor into the judging. Students had to audition to be included in the competition.
