About Me
I am fortunate to have worked at Maine East High School for over 10 years in the Technology Department. My goal, simply stated, is to provide computer technology services to support the best possible environment for learning. I am available to support students, parents and staff so feel free to contact me via email or phone if you have any technology based questions or concerns.
About My Job
As the Technology Manager at Maine East, my role is to oversee the day-to-day operations for the various computer based technologies in the building. This includes state-of-the-art, 21st century classrooms each equipped with a teacher computer, LCD projector, and document camera. My professional staff of technicians and lab coordinators and I also oversee a variety of student based computer labs including high-end labs used for teaching computer aided design (CAD), graphical design, computer programming, digital photography, broadcasting and communications, and various engineering and industrial disciplines. Beyond the hardware and software, the District provides both staff and students a wide variety of services such as email and document collaboration via Google Apps for Education. Of course, leveraging all of this technology requires on-going and comprehensive training and support.
In order to navigate the ever changing technology landscape, I also work with a dedicated staff of teachers and administrators to plan and implement a wide variety of professional development activities. From one-on-one individualized training to 20-minute "lunch and learns," to half-day training sessions to our popular teacher lead "mini" conference, we are constantly working to providing the most comprehensive and relevant training possible. Our latest effort is a program for students called the "
East Squad. " The purpose is to get students involved in providing technical support during school to fellow students. Its a win-win situation!
